THE KOÇ SCHOOL

“Kozan Documentary” in Moscow Final

The Koç School aims to enable Koç students to think critically and creatively, to express themselves through art and to gain aesthetic sensitivity through art education, providing opportunities for students to acquire the knowledge and skills required to express their ideas in an experimental, original and creative manner. Today, all young people use video as their main communication tool and they can freely share ideas with the camera and editing methods. This year, a Koç School student will take part in the Moscow International McGuffin Film Festival, which has been open to the participation of young people aged 12-18 since 2016.

One of our 12th-grade students, İlayda İşeri, who took film lessons as part of Koç School IB program, shot a short documentary film last summer called “Kozan”, giving sections of the daily life of a farmer woman living in a village in Adapazarı. The documentary was selected as a finalist at the international McGuffin Film Festival to be held between October 20-25.
