REACH OUT Project: Supporting Schools in Times of Crisis

Today, natural disasters and human-made crises continue to deeply impact communities, especially the lives of children. In the face of these challenges, providing psychosocial support in schools is crucial for safeguarding students’ well-being and helping them cope with trauma.
The REACH OUT Project aims to strengthen teachers’ capacity to create trauma-sensitive school environments in the aftermath of crises. The newly published information brochure sheds light on:

  • How curricula in partner countries can be adapted to integrate psychosocial support into classroom settings
  • How a solidarity and experience-sharing network has been built among teachers across Europe
  • Innovative tools for teachers, including a digital guide with sample activities and hands-on manuals

REACH OUT not only focuses on responding to crises but also on enhancing children’s resilience skills and supporting school communities in becoming better prepared for future disasters.
