THE KOÇ SCHOOL

Academic Program

It is our priority that our students get their education on the basis of The Koç School objectives established at K12 level in a safe and positive school climate with a holistic curriculum that is based on their cognitive, social, emotional and physical development where they can show and exceed their potential, in addition to the curriculum of Turkish Ministry of National Education.  The lesson contents of the different models in back to school processes have been developed and updated within this scope. Accordingly, studies have been completed to plan and implement lesson contents, conduct assessment and evaluation and provide the necessary development support that the student needs.

As an outcome of The Koç School Digital Transformation Project, the “Atlas Rubicon Curriculum Planning Platform” is used for designing course curricula in a digital environment. Synchronous and asynchronous lesson contents are planned for all education models and the necessary lesson contents are prepared.

Technical infrastructure and hardware for producing asynchronous video contents suitable for different models have been completed in our school; video studios with Green-box equipment are ready to be used in distance education and hybrid models. If necessary, our students will be supported with asynchronous video contents.

Considering the education needs of our age, we will continue to work on;

  • Skill based
  • Interaction oriented teaching designs
  • That adopt process oriented assessment and evaluation
  • And support meaningful learning
  • As well as interdisciplinary teaching designs that complete one another horizontally and vertically.

When working on these studies that serve all education models and scenarios in our school:

  • Ensuring continuous development of the main components of the school climate such as organizational structure, education processes, social and emotional learning,
  • Making continuous development that includes all stakeholders a part of the school culture,
  • Making all stakeholders of the school a part of the “Learning Society”,
  • Popularizing continuous development, feedback, participation and cooperation culture and ensure that it is adopted by all stakeholders,

are among our main targets and areas of focus.

Various tools have been defined and integrated in the education processes to improve student interaction (in-class interaction, interdisciplinary interaction, interaction in assessment & evaluation processes, interaction in asynchronous processes etc.) in distance education and hybrid models.

Plans have been prepared for all models to sustain and maintain all our routines that are a part of our students’ school life and our school operations.

In order to continue the academic programs according to the pandemic conditions, outdoor classrooms have been prepared for our students to get education outdoors and at the school yard in the face-to-face education model.

Suitable strategies have been determined to assess the holistic development of our students with regards to objectives and skills by considering the K12 integrity for our students to be ready for the 2021-2022 academic year and reflected on the 2021-2022 academic year plans as The Koç School Readiness Activities.
