THE KOÇ SCHOOL

History

The primary goal of the Koç School High School History Department is to educate students who know how to access information, can connect and utilize diverse sources, and effectively evaluate this knowledge to understand the past, present, and future of society.

Additionally, the program emphasizes developing key skills such as historical empathy, the ability to view events from multiple perspectives, recognizing and relating to different cultures, perceiving and interpreting time and place, internalizing human rights values, critical thinking, and conducting independent research.

The curricula of the Turkish Ministry of Education (MEB) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) are enriched with the use of technology and various in-class activities, and delivered through a student-centered, active learning approach. The curriculum is not limited to a single textbook but is supported by enriched activities and reading materials prepared by the department teachers.

Furthermore, the MEB curriculum includes test-solving techniques to help students prepare effectively for university entrance exams.
